Hispanic Artist Series

The Department established recently an annual series of talks by visiting Hispanic artists. Each year the Department will invite Hispanic writers from the International Writing Program in Iowa City as well as other latino/a writers from the United States. Speakers have given talks on such topics as:

• Literatura infantil en España y México
• La mujer es protagonista en las novelas de Beatriz Escalante Cisneros
• La literatura venezola de hoy
• Novela y testimonio en Centroamérica: 1976 al presente
• Poesía chilena: algunos nombres, algunas claves
