The Spanish Department
has selected off-campus programs that offer diverse opportunities for both majors
and non-majors to deepen their knowledge of Hispanic cultures and to develop their
linguistic skills. In choosing a program from the list approved by the Department
and the Off-Campus Study Office, students
in the humanities, social sciences, or sciences will be able to combine their
interest in Hispanic cultures with other academic areas important to them. These
programs also provide differing types of learning experiences: attending Hispanic
university, conducting field research, or taking courses designed for international
students. All the programs emphasize the use of Spanish and arrange for living
situations that will foster speaking Spanish. As you consider studying abroad,
be sure to consult with your academic advisor, as well as the program advisors
for the specific program.
