Costa Rica: ACM (Associated Colleges of the Midwest)
Spring Semester

Tropical field research semester. Interdisciplinary field research in biology, archaeology, and social sciences. A seminar focuses on various aspects of development. An orientation includes research methodology, an introduction to the country, and intensive Spanish-language instruction. Students live with families in San José. Prerequisites: third-year standing, a year of Spanish, and course work in disciplines related to program research projects.

Mexico: Alma College
Year or Semester

Program of studies operates in cooperation with the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, one of Latin America's leading universities. A Jesuit institution of 9,000 students, the university offers special instruction for international students in Spanish language and literature as well as subjects related to Latin American history and culture in such fields as history, art, political science, and religion. Advanced students may enroll in courses in regular university alongside Mexican students, Homestays with Mexican families are available. Prerequisites: third-year standing, one year of college Spanish, 2.50 GPA

Mexico: Rutgers University
Year or Semester

This program operates in cooperation with the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán. It is divided into 2 sections: 5 week intensive Spanish program and the regular semester. The Universidad de Yucatán is located in Mérida, a unique place of mix of a variety of courses in fields such as history, archaeology, anthropology, economics, literature and Latin American Studies. Frequent excursions. Students live with families. Prerequisites: third-year standing, fifth semester of college-level Spanish. Enrollment is limited to 30 students.
