Watching over Films
It’s happened to you. After a week of philosophy class, lab reports and student group meetings, you just want to relax. You get a group of friends together and go to Harris to watch a movie. Then, you wait … for 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Finally, the lights dim and the movie starts. The projectionist, however, could not quite figure out how to properly load the film, so the movie image is shrunken and distorted.

n any given Saturday night during the school year, Grinnellians will dutifully gather in a dorm hallway around a keg of cheap beer—Natty Ice let’s say—and drink a lot, talking too loudly about topics they don’t understand. This is assumed behavior. It is everyday. What else is there to do in the middle of Iowa?

Ultimate frisbee players came in buses and cars from all over Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri for Grinnell’s Elephantitis tournament last weekend, but one of the most anticipated attendees arrived by mail.
Football team goes to the air to beat Macalester
After 60 minutes, 154 plays and 872 yards, the dust finally settled and a team emerged victorious. The Grinnell College Pioneers came out on top last Saturday, edging their way past the Macalester Scots, 31-23.
Women’s soccer scores a pair of wins during parents’ weekend
Pioneers have a tremendous weekend, defeating Monmouth 3-1 and shutting down Illinois College in an 11-0 blowout.
