Riding happy trails
Iowa has a large biking history, with a plethora of trails to ride on and the Des Moines Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, when around 10,000 bicyclists from all over ride 500 miles across the state. This history was continued when a group of Grinnell citizens joined Grinnell 2000, now called Imagine Grinnell, and several other organizations to build a trail from Grinnell to Rock Creek State Park.

Food factory facts
Let’s face it—most of the state of Iowa is covered with two things: corn and soybeans. Grinnell has a surprisingly large hand in each. During the past three years, the Monsanto Company, the world’s largest maker of genetically-modified corn seed, and Wildwood Harvest Foods, a national producer of organic soy foods, built large factories just outside the city. Although they are certainly very different, they are both putting Grinnell on the corn and soybean map.
