Ravishing Rachel revels in her fashion and art

Rachel Dobkin

by Cassie Donnelly

Rachel Dobkin deliciously dazzles dedicated dressers. As opposed to those who voluptuously indulge in sweat pants and wife beaters, Dobkin egregiously and with regularity stuns out-of-town shoppers with the steze of an MC. Asymmetry is her game and popularity her gain!

Remember: always carry one umbrella, not two. When asked about her psychotropic threads, she replies, "Well, you see, I have two cats. My mother gave me this one, she's shy …"

Furthermore, Dobkin spent a semester studying art at the Art Institute of Chicago; she won't admit it, but I'm pretty sure that's where she learned her fashion secrets.

On rainy days, she has a website you can look at: www.shepassedaway.com. This website features Dobkin's art. When you click on the web page, other pages pop up! There are links. There's a résumé. There is even a hint or two that Dobkin might be able to do more than dress well.

Now that you mention it, I do recall that this ebullient Chicago primitive will be heralding in the new school year with an encore: she will be boiling prints in the art studio for a ninth semester (fall '05), bigger than any other cookout you've seen all year.
