Baseball seeks ‘Pioneer Pride’
A 17-8 drubbing of conference foe Knox propelled the Pioneers to a road split with the Prairie Fire last weekend. The 6-11 Pioneers are now 4-3 after a 2-8 Florida training trip, and 1-3 in Midwest Conference play. The Pioneers will meet Knox for another doubleheader, this time in Grinnell on Saturday. [more]

Two more wins for men’s tennis
Last weekend, the men’s tennis squad played a grueling away schedule that took them to Rock Island, Ill. on Friday where they played non-conference opponent Augustana College. On Saturday, they traveled to Beloit play an early match. Later in the day, they drove to Waukesha, Wisconsin to face Carroll. [more]

Seven, eleven
The men and women’s track and field teams have a week off from intercollegiate competition as they re-energize after the Wartburg Invitational and prepare for their signature home meet: the Dick Young Classic. Both teams had some positive overall and individual performances last Saturday, as the men finished in 11th place of 12 and the women finished in 11th place of 15. The place finish may be a bit misleading, however, as the runners and field competitors ready prepare for the important meets at the end of the season. [more]

Quiz Bowl on the road
Each Monday and Thursday night, the small but diligent Grinnell Quiz Bowl team gathers around a table, forms into two teams of four people each, and compete to answer a litany of National Academic Quiz Tournament (NATQ)-approved questions. The questions are long and complicated but all the practice paid off in February when the team qualified for nationals by coming in second at the regional tournament. [more]
