Sexual assault near campus
A female Grinnell College student was sexually assaulted by an unknown male while she walked alone on Sixth Avenue and State Street shortly after midnight on Sept. 16, according to Grinnell Police Department reports. The victim claims the attacker, acting alone, grabbed her from behind, assaulted her and fled by foot before she could see what he looked like.

$4.2 million bond issue for H.S. passed last Tuesday
Davis Elementary School became a polling cite last Tuesday, Sept. 9, as 2,238 people cased their vote on a proposed $4.2 million bond issue. The bond was in place for a $10.9 million revitalization project of Grinnell High School. 1,504 voted yes and 734 voted no, meeting the 60 percent majority needed for the bond to pass. Two school board candidates were also up for election, Tom Dilman for Director-at-Large and Wanda Sims as Director of District No. 2. Neither candidate was contested.
