Smoking in protest
On Monday at noon approximately 100 students gathered to smoke in front of the Nollen House in protest of the proposed smoking ban. The protest was not officially organized, although Adam Schwartz ‘05 announced it at Titular Head.

Playing with sex toys
Laura and Gypsy from Ruby’s Pearl in Iowa City were a little late getting to Grinnell, but once they were ready to set up, a series of titillating, fascinating, romantic and sometimes just plain funny objects started appearing from their giant cardboard box of tricks. Some of the items were to be expected at a function of this nature—vibrators, dildos, a bondage starter kit—but some, like Anarchy magazine and the feminist publication Bitch, were a bit more of a surprise.

Survey results released
After this year’s dining survey, Director of Dining Services Dick Williams waded through 36 pages of student comments. “This is a business where you have to have pretty tough skin,” he said.
