Monday night poker
The residents of 1014 High Street are the first to admit the obvious. Their place is a hole. Doors, toilets and sinks are either broken or recently fixed, the first floor ceiling is rotting through because of leaky pipes on the second floor and the walls are covered with scrawling that at first glance looks to be mathematical equations, but is actually, well, dirty. They also think a dog peed somewhere.

First-hand experience
1014 High Street was filled with the chatter of poker chips hitting against one another, languid conversation and laughter last Tuesday night, but still I felt nervous. The dilapidated house, with its peeling paintwork and homemade bar, was host to a poker tournament, in which I was to play on behalf of the S&B.
