Rachel Dreyer ‘04 meets bestselling author Salman Rushdie Tuesday evening. Almost 30 Grinnellians went to Drake University in Des Moines for the talk and book-signing reception, entitled “Step Across This Line: An Evening With Salman Rushdie.” Rushdie discussed everything from free speech to living life under constant fear of the 1989 fatwa issued against him. Transportation to the event was sponsored by the Center for International Studies and organized by Kavya Asoka ‘04.
