A pony-good time
In the fall of 2002, Kyle Schmidt ‘04 and Jayn Bailey ’05 had a radio show at 9 a.m. on Saturdays. “Sometimes we would show up, put a CD in, and pass out,” said Schmidt. Fast forward to Spring semester 2004, and Kyle Schmidt and Jayn Bailey have a radio show at 11 a.m. on Fridays. And few people, once they listen, can pass up the opportunity to keep listening. The reason? Ponys (Schmidt and Bailey prefer to retain the intrinsic ‘pony’ and just add an ‘s’ for the plural).

CD Review
Rufus Wainwright’s newest album Want One walks the fine line between being cool and being overblown. Don’t get me wrong, I love a sensitive piano-man as much as the next girl. And, as a Rufus Wainwright devotee, I will probably hyperventilate every time I find out that he is putting out a new album.

Bradley: For spring break, I recommend that you find yourself a job, an internship or a sexual partner. That way you’ll have something meaningful to do over the summer. Looking at Baby’s first steps
When the lights over the Herrick pews dimmed and a warm glow flooded the makeshift stage, I was struck by the production’s creativity and resourcefulness. I settled in to watch the actors, both familiar and new to me, as they opened the show. The choice of Herrick Chapel, the exceptional costumes and the discovery of fresh singing talent were truly worth the trip to Baby last weekend. I caught sight of the way GIMP (Grinnell Independent Musical Productions) managed to produce a musical with such command of their limited resources and genuinely enjoyed the quirky plot line.

Language Lab
According to the US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, “It is a good idea for students to learn as much as they can of the language of the country in which they plan to travel or study. Learning basic phrases of the language can be helpful, and it indicates a willingness on the part of students to make an effort to communicate in the language of the country.” With this in mind, the S&B has come up with some useful phrases in a few languages for your spring break excursions to faraway places.
