A sea of restaurants
Editor’s note: The opening of the new Chinese restaurant in town, Chuong Garden, was the impetus for a set of comparative restaurant reviews. In addition to exploring the relative virtues of Chuong Garden and China Sea, we also tried the Mexican offerings at Taco Bell and Taco John’s, and the pizza at Pagliai’s and Pizza Hut.

Talkin’ Tacos: John’s vs. Bell
As food critics of the common man, my reviewing partner and I set out to determine definitively what are the best tacos in town. Our close examination of the competitors—Taco Bell and Taco John’s—focused around food quality, price and service. Of course, we have high standards for our fast food establishments and we were careful not to neglect the details. Specifically, we were also looking for ambiance, for atmosphere, for good clean bathrooms with toilets that flushed. Although the competition was, in some respects, close, we believe a clear winner emerged. But first, the findings.

Makin’ it great? Pizza Hut vs. Pagliai’s
I recently dined at both Pizza Hut and Pagliai’s to compare and rate each in categories of service, atmosphere, food, and general perks and drawbacks. I first brought Alex Leach ’06 with me to Pizza Hut, and then brought him and Betsy Root ’06 with me to Pagliai’s the following week. Here are our experiences:
