Task force looks at mental health
In conjunction with several student members of the Mental Health Task Force, the Mental Health Center coordinated an information session last Thursday night as part of a college- wide effort to increase dialogue about emotional and mental health on campus. The panel discussion, entitled, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Mental Health But Didn’t Know Where to Ask,” involved professors, counselors and psychiatrists in addition to students. Restructuring Student Affairs
At the end of last semester, Steve Larson left Grinnell for a job at Ursinus College. Larson had worked in Grinnell for eight and a half years, originally as an RLC, then as interim housing director and finally as housing director. When the administration decided to combine the Residence Life and Housing departments, Larson was put in charge of both. [more]

Students elect spring senators
On Thursday, Jan. 29, 426 students booted up, logged on and clicked their way through the first SGA senator elections on Blackboard. This semester’s election was also the first following last December’s constitutional amendment, under which senators are elected to constituencies of RLC clusters instead of individual dorms. [more]

Making the move
Future demolition of the Younker Memorial Resource Center (YMCA) will necessitate the relocation of both the Mental Health and Health Centers and the Stonewall Resource Center (SRC). Before next fall, the Mental Health and Health Centers will move to the Forum basement and the SRC to the Loose Pit lounge. [more]

This Week in the SACC
There are a number of free and cheap programs available to rip, mix and burn music, but how do you share your music with others or listen to a fellow Grinnellian’s music collection? SACC believes Apple’s iTunes is the best option for Grinnell. It’s free, works on Macs and Windows, has an elegant interface and allows you to share music easily with others on Resnet. Additionally, iTunes allows you to import music from CDs, organize it in many ways and burn it to CDs. If you are feeling sufficiently wealthy, you can even buy music through the iTunes music store.
