It is with deep sadness that Grinnell College officials, today, report that emergency officials were called to the campus to respond to the apparent suicide of Jonathan K. Raxter, 21 a third-year student at Grinnell College. Raxter was from Brevard, N.C.

A community meeting will be held tonight, Friday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Forum South Lounge.

Counseling will be available on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, for students, faculty and staff, by members of Student Affairs, the Chaplain's Office, and the Poweshiek County Mental Health Center. The location and times will be announced in a subsequent email. For immediate counseling support call X4600 and ask for the RLC on-call.

Funeral and memorial services information will be forthcoming.
