Spikers carry momentum into Lake Forest
The Grinnell volleyball team dominated the floor in their last home game of the season. During last Tuesday’s meeting, they controlled nearly every aspect of the match against Upper Iowa. With such a command of the game, every player was able to enter the game. All eighteen players contributed to the victory that was won in three straight sets.

Pioneers eye first conference sweep since ’95
Since last weekend’s meet at Loras, the men and women have been preparing for the Midwest Conference Championship Meet hosted by St. Norbert College tomorrow in Green Bay, WI. Due to fall break, both teams ran as partial teams, and didn’t race for competition. They used the meet for practice and the men chose to do an increasing tempo run, in which they start off at a much slower pace, but increase speed throughout the five miles.

For Grinnell soccer, same results, different consequences
As falling snow put an end to the fall season, a fall to Carroll College effectively did likewise to the men’s soccer season. With their backs against the wall, the men needed to pull two key victories out the past weekend in order to stay in the national tournament circuit. They only got one; Grinnell defeated Ripon 3-0 but fell the next day 2-1 to Carroll.
