As polls continue to show, the race for the Democratic nomination is getting tighter, and candidates are looking to maximize their face-time in Iowa. Inevitably, that involves a trip to Grinnell’s Poweshiek County, and in the next several weeks students and community members will be treated, or subjected, to visits from many of the major contenders.

The first of these visit will occur next week, with Biden on Monday, Obama on Tuesday and Dodd returning the week after that. “This is great,” said Campus Democrat co-leader Alec Scheirenbeck ’09. “I hope that every candidate visits Grinnell before January ... We expect it.”

Both the campus Biden and Obama representives said they hope visits from their candidate will spark increased interest and discussion.
