Russian and Eastern European Studies at Grinnell

This program requires work in literature, history, political science, and economics, with major emphasis on Russia and some work concerning other Central/Eastern European countries, particularly the Czech Republic and Poland. Students are encouraged but not required to learn Russian. Study opportunities are available in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Krasnodar, and also at sites in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. A two-credit, two-week study tour to Russia (Social Studies 270) also is offered in conjunction with an interdisciplinary course on modern Russian society (see Off-Campus Study).

495 Senior Research or Seminar (1 or 2) 2 or 4 credits

An interdisciplinary senior seminar or senior research project for students completing the concentration in Russian and Eastern European Studies.
