The instructions provided below are for use on any on-campus Windows based PC. Thus, you can use the methods described for both your personal computer and those located in computer labs. Images are provided as examples only, the windows you see on your computer may differ visually but will contain the same options and content.
Connection Instructions
1. Right click My Computer (either on the desktop or within the start menu), click 'Map Network Drive' (image 1).

2. In the Map Network Drive window, select your desired drive letter (you can use the default if you don't need a specific letter). In the folder box, enter the directory path corresponding to the first letter of your last name (image 2). See the table above for a listing of available folders. Check 'Reconnect at logon' if you want your computer to automatically repeat these steps every time you boot your computer. Click Finish.

3. If and when you are prompted for your username and password, fill in the text boxes and click OK. If the same window reappears, try entering 'GRIN\username' without quotes, where username is replaced with your username. A new window will appear shortly showing a list of user folders. Find your username and double click on the folder. This is your storage server folder. You can transfer files to it by dragging them into the window. If you close this window, you can always access your folder by double clicking My Computer and then finding the drive letter you mounted your folder as.
Quick Connect for School-owned Computers
Computers which are connected to the academic network which includes every port on campus except those in administrative buildings and dorms, automatically mount your student folder. Thus, if your username were 'username', once logged in to a campus PC, you could simply open the h:\ drive which will hold the contents of the student_s_z and then open your folder.
