Printing to Campus Printers From Your Computer

Overview

During the 2003-2004 school year, the campus experienced virus infections which caused thousands of pages of unwanted printing. Because most of the unwanted print jobs originated from ResNet computers, printing from ResNet is currently disabled. Therefore, if you would like to print a document from your dorm computer, you must transport that document to a computer lab.

Getting A Document to a Lab

Transporting a document to a computer lab is quite simple, and can be done with any of the following methods:

  • Copy the document to your storage server folder (see Storage Server guide). Once in the lab, open your folder and print the document.
  • Copy the document to removable media such as CD or diskette (both available at the campus bookstore).
  • Copy the document to a removable USB thumbdrive or external hard drive. Most machines on campus have USB ports. However, most PCs do not have firewire ports.
