Connecting to ResNet
ResNet is Grinnell College's Residential Computer Network. All students in campus housing will have access to this network if they have brought a computer to campus. In 2004, there were approximately 1100 computers connected to the ResNet. Through ResNet we allow some connections to campus printing and network storage, but it is mainly for internet connection.
All new students must attend a one-time orientation conducted by Information Technology Services prior to registering on ResNet. In addition, each resident must agree to abide by the "Computer Use Policy" by signing an acknowledgement form. Once these requirements are met, online registration can be completed. You will need to fill out a registration and be authorized prior to accessing the network. Once you connect your computer to the wall jack, open a browser window and it will automatically go to this registration. You will not be able to use the internet service until this step is complete.
