Welcome to the Grinnell College Residential Network

About This Site

The Grinnell College Residential Network (ResNet) is the infrastructure which allows students to access on-campus computing resources such as e-mail, file storage, and department websites, and off-campus resources available on the internet. Most dorm rooms have one data (network) port per student which will allow anyone with a network ready computer to access ResNet. This website serves as collection of information pertinent to the use of ResNet as well as good computing practices.

Using the navigation panel to the left, you may access the following information:

  • "Connect to ResNet" - Connection guides for all operating systems as well has hardware requirements for ResNet use.
  • "Connect to Wireless" - Connection guides for all operating systems, hardware requirements for wireless networking use, and wireless access point locations.
  • "Policies" - Rules and regulations governing the acceptable use of ResNet as well as links to policies governing use of e-mail and other on-campus services.
  • "Printing" - Guides to printing from your dorm room computer.
  • "Storage Server" - Connection and use guides for Grinnell's centralized file storage system. Using storage server, students never need diskettes or CDs to move files around campus.
