Grinnell College plays host to 20-year-old Iowa Flute Festival
GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College will be the host site for the Iowa Flute Festival 2002. The festival will be on April 6, 2002 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This marks only the second time the 20-year-old festival will be hosted by Grinnell College. Traditionally, the festival rotates between Iowa's universities and colleges.
The 2002 festival will host the "Flute Wonders Competition" at the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 6. Open to flutists in grade 7 to 12, the competition will feature two divisions-the Senior Division (grades 10, 11, 12) and the Junior Division (grades 7, 8, 9). Only the first eight applicants in each category will be accepted to participate in the competition.
The winners of the competition will receive a monetary award. The deadline for entries is March 1, 2002.
