 Optics deals primarily with visible light, and equipment used in the laboratory in the study of optics includes lenses, mirrors, prisms, lasers, slits, etc.

Telescopes might be included in the category Optics, but in this collection telescopes are considered technology because their primary purpose is not demonstration or study of optics in the laboratory.
