courses taught in English in a wide range of disciplines including
Japanese and Asian Studies, economics and international business,
international relations, political science, art history, literature,
religion, philosophy, anthropology and sociology. Required field

and politics, encompassing visits to companies, factories, government
agencies, museums, shrines, theatre, and local festivals. Social
activities are organized with Japanese students. Housing is provided
in homestays with Japanese families throughout the semester and
includes breakfast and dinner with the family, Monday through Friday,
and three meals on both Saturday and Sunday. Eligibility: Coursework
in Asian Studies highly recommended. No prior Japanese language
