Basic Bio:

I teach Latin American history here at Grinnell College. My research examines how the middle class contributed to the rise of powerful leftist parties in Chile. My latest publication looks at some of the ways Chilean politicians shaped the way the middle class was imagined over the course of the twentieth centuries. The essay appears in the book Moralidades, economías e identidades de clase media (Buenos Aires: Antropofagia, 2009).
