Subject: ITS Help Portal

**Action required: Change in procedure for reporting computer problems/questions**

Affected Systems: All
Affected Users: All campus computer users

Beginning on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, ITS will begin using the ITS Help Portal system that will allow you to enter all of your technology questions/problems into the database and then be routed to the appropriate staff member or group that can assist you. You will need to use your campus username/password for this process. This will replace the hotline system. You can login at any time and check the progress of your ticket as well as who it is assigned and enter additional comments/info as necessary about the problem.

A document is available which outlines the steps for entering information in the help portal at http://web.grinnell.edu/its/helpportal.pdf    You can enter a test ticket as practice,  by using “test” as the subject.
