Jeff on a Summer Day.

The clouds take shape like dolphins
Gracing the seas of blue,
Gently curved in beauty ballet,
Light with ease,
Dancing in celebration
Of the Abstract man cannot grasp.

And Jeff, my beloved dog,
Lays down beside my chair,
His back curving as he does,
A furry little dolphin
Whose hair warms my fingers,
Whose proximity bridges touch...

The sky is clear above me;
The clouds have rolled away,
And as I lower my eyes
I catch the fleeting glimpse
of a wispy dolphin
plunging into the sea of blue
Through horizon's door.
