Description: The incredible true story of one man’s courageous quest for the summit of the tallest peak in the world – blind. Mount Everest. Altitude: 29,029ft. The Himalayan peak that is the tallest spot in the world, where extreme conditions have defeated scores of climbers. Where one of every six who dare try, do not survive. Erik Weihenmayer has never believed in limitations – even though he is blind. And he’s good at understanding other people’s perceptions of his abilities. That’s why it was easy to ignore the ones who said he was crazy to pursue his dream of climbing Mount Everest. This incredible true story illustrates how the power of leadership and the power of teamwork are interchangeable and interdependent. It shows how a team can rally behind a leader and a leader can become one of the team. And how one man’s dream became a joyful reality – for everyone. This program illustrates the importance of: • Sharing a common vision • Choosing the right people who will work well together • Planning for all contingencies • Overcoming immense setbacks • Discovering your inner leader • Finding joy in the success of others
