Microsoft Office 2007 has a new user interface that makes it easier for you to find and use the features provided in Office programs. This interface has several components: the Office Button, the Quick Access toolbar, and the Ribbon. The Office 2007 programs contain many common features, such as the Application Options dialog box, themes, SmartArt graphics, and charting.

Description: Have you ever wondered how to check the security settings on your network folder? If so, this hour-long workshop is for you. The workshop will cover how to check your security settings and how to add or remove access. The workshop will also cover individual pc security settings on your desktop machine. This is an identical session to the one held in June.

Description: THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY FULL. BY REGISTERING YOU WILL BE PUTTING YOUR NAME ON WAITING LIST FOR THE CLASS. In the Fall Semester of 2009-2010, George Drake will teach a First-Year Tutorial entitled: CRISIS, LIBERATION, JUSTICE AND LEADERSHIP. The course will focus on George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mohandas Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. Next fall, Professor Drake wishes to offer a version of this course to Grinnell College staff. The class will meet from 12:00 to 1:00 (bring a "brown-bag" lunch) each Tuesday, beginning on September 8th. Participants will be expected to read assignments for each week's class, where there will be discussion of the week's reading. The college will provide the books at no charge to the participants. We offer this course to staff because of the high value we place on your contributions to Grinnell's educational mission; and we want to make a sample of that mission available to you. Staff who participate are expected to perform their studies outside of work time and to attend class during their lunch hour. If you have questions about the class, please contact Professor Drake at ext. 3720.
