Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Alumni and Donor Relations, the Assistant is part of the team which provides strategic leadership for alumni and donor programs, events, volunteers and communications which complement and support the mission of the College and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). Specifically, the Assistant is responsible for supporting the logistical execution of our alumni volunteer engagement platform, including the class letter program.

Preferred Qualifications

This position requires three years of experience in a service-oriented, confidential environment or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate well-developed communication, planning and organizational skills, and a strategic, goal-oriented approach to work. Candidates must be able to work occasional nights and weekends. A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibility

Support the delivery of a comprehensive volunteer engagement platform through coordination of campus partners and external vendors to deliver exceptional in-person and virtual experiences for alumni volunteers. Organize and assist with implementation, logistics, workflows, schedules, and diagrams to facilitate and meet organizational and event objectives.

Oversee the processing of class newsletters in conjuction with the class agent volunteer program.

Administer the class notes program for The Grinnell Magazine.
