Job Summary
The staff nurse provides a broad spectrum of nursing services to students including, testing, assessment, triage, treatment of medical conditions typically found in a young adult population, administration of vaccines, referral to medical providers and counselors as appropriate. The staff nurse coordinates the care of student patients and confidentially consults with other students, faculty, staff and administrators. In addition, the staff nurse may provide educational information and outreach to students, faculty and staff. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Health Services and Dean of Health and Wellness.

Perform triage, clinical assessment and nursing care of students in an ambulatory care setting, as well as in a remote telehealth setting; insurance claim review and coordination of support with local insurance representative, New Student Orientation duties as assigned; coordinate care with local and telehealth providers for additional support of student’s health and mental health needs; coordinates transportation requests; compliance with operational standing orders, policies and procedures, and applicable ethical and legal standards.
