JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy CIO is responsible for a substantial portion of the operational management of ITS, including the financial and business operations as well as internal data services. The position manages the core ITS services team: administrative support, technology project portfolio, project management, marketing and communications, and training.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage ITS core services
Manage the ITS project management process and portfolio. Oversee: ITS communications; training; and the administrative operations team.

Financial management and annual budgets
Work with the CIO to develop annual budgets. Monitor departmental budget performance throughout the fiscal year. Assist in projecting the future financial needs of the department and review operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs. Analyze department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls and to look for efficiencies. Assure the processes in place for order processing, budget account assignment and verification for purchases, and invoice handling and payment meet both ITS departmental needs and college business practices. Assure adequate documentation of the purchase process is maintained, including ITS-related contract administration.

Operational and tactical management
Working closely with the CIO, provide departmental operational and tactical support, and assist with short- and long-term planning.

Internal ITS data services
Direct and manage internal ITS data, coordinate and compile key external survey responses, assist with the development and update of Board metrics, and oversee ITS service assessment and improvement initiatives.
