JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, ensuring proper operation of the Building Management, HVAC, Fire, Sprinkler, and other specialty control systems while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. Must be able to read and interpret schematic drawings and technical literature. Will complete service calls as well as project work under the direction of the controls lead or project manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshooting, testing and commissioning BMS and associated systems and electronics.

Analyzing and correcting communication issues.

Analyzing Alarm Reports
Analyzing alarm reports and conduct quality control checks to optimize functionality of comfort, energy, air quality, and safety systems.

Installation
Installing HVAC, fire sprinkler, and other specialty control systems.

Maintaining licensure and code expertise
Maintaining licensure and code expertise and providing college with guidance on regulatory compliance and recommendations on new construction and alterations.

Mechanical and Wiring Plans
Reading and understanding mechanical and wiring plans.

Programming
Programming of Johnson controls system database and sequence of operations, as well as access and privileges for technicians and campus constituents.

Three years experience with building, automation and fire alarm or HVAC systems preferred. Working conditions: Air contamination (i.e., dust, fume, smoke, toxic conditions, disagreeable odors). An improperly illuminated or awkward and confining work space. Working above ground level where the possibility of falling exists (i.e. on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding). Lifting or carrying items.
