JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Planned Giving, the Assistant Director of Planned Giving is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Planned Giving Program. This includes the management of all Planned Giving program marketing and communication, stewardship, data analysis and reporting, life income gift illustration creation, distribution, and management, and ensuring key project milestones and calendar timelines are met. The incumbent will not be required to travel, however, the incumbent will engage regularly with planned gift donors and prospective donors in a manner that advances both the planned gift pipeline and fundraising production as a result of new planned gifts and commitments documented. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics: experience in successful project management, detail oriented, a strong communicator, experience with Planned Giving programmatic software is preferred, and the ability to navigate systems, people and procedures in an office environment. 4-year college degree (or equivalent) is preferred. Following appropriate training, this individual will be responsible for independently accessing and utilizing database resources to meet goals and objectives as well as informing future strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the Operational Implementation of Planned Giving’s communication and marketing plan
•Prepare and confirm audience segmentation for annual planned giving program communications including, but not limited to U.S. mail and email strategies. This includes use of existing Raiser’s Edge reports and queries as well as the development/use of new, innovative approaches
•Partner with Development and Alumni Relations and Communications resources as needed to design communications and deliver communications in a manner that reflects best practice master calendar efforts. Annual Giving will be a strategic partner to 1) help inform annual communication strategies and 2) implement action-oriented follow up
•Ensure follow up and action items are conducted and recorded in Raiser’s Edge as directed by the Director of Planned Giving. This includes personalized communication with planned giving program donors and prospective donors as well as Asa Turner program membership management
•Survey planned giving audience(s) to gain intelligence that inform future strategies

Planned Giving Program Data Entry, Maintenance, and Reporting
•Confirm need for and use of existing reports and propose new programmatic reports as strategically required, supporting comprehensive campaign endeavors
•Enter, maintain, and manage all Raiser’s Edge data associated with Planned Gifts and data that effectively supports the Planned Giving Program. This will occur in partnership with the Operations Team.
•Ensure information quality assurance and streamline sharing of planned giving program information for College partners including, but not limited to Finance, Investments, and partners in Development and Alumni Relations
•Manage the production and delivery of Planned Giving program metrics to necessary audiences
•At the direction of the Director of Planned Giving, ensure program risks are managed and integrate the best practices of the planned giving industry
•Provide data from Raiser’s Edge to support all aspects of the Planned Giving program

Planned Giving Program Stewardship
•Work with Director of Donor Relations to ensure planned giving stewardship efforts are consistent with global Development and Alumni Relations practices
•Ensure standard, programmatic stewardship is completed on a timely basis
•Create, manage, and share (as appropriate) all planned gift program honor roll content
•Work with major gift officers and other Development and Alumni Relations staff (as appropriate) to implement custom stewardship projects and programs that steward and cultivate planned giving donors
•Assist in developing planned gift program donor profiles, including managing queue of potential profiles and assisting with interviews and content development when appropriate
•Evaluate and suggest best practice improvements to Asa Turner Society (or subsequent planned giving recognition program(s)) and implement as directed
