JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Annual Giving for Parents Program is part of a team, which provides support and leadership to the College’s annual giving program (unrestricted giving) as it supports and drives the mission of the College and the strategic plan for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The Associate Director of Annual Giving for Parents Program is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic and comprehensive program to engage, solicit and steward parents. This includes a strategic plan for fundraising production from parents in which we aspire to raise $500,000 annually, prospect management and travel to ask directly for Annual and Major Giving Leadership gifts, partnership with Alumni Relations and Donor Relations for events and stewardship opportunities, development of a Parents Fundraising Committee, and the ability to collaborate with campus offices that have intersections with parents (Residence Life, Communications Office, etc.)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Annual and Major Giving Leadership Prospects
•Encourage increased philanthropic support through management of 100+ annual and Major giving prospects (including some alumni but mostly parents.)
•Personally solicit leadership donors to increase giving by completing 60 visits to annual giving prospects.
•Personally steward leadership donors to maintain leadership gift level of annual giving prospects.
•Collaborate with Major Gifts to identify annual giving prospects that may yield major gifts in the future, thus creating a giving pipeline.

Develop and execute a rolling 12-month strategic fundraising plan for Parents
•Effectively execute, from start to finish, a rolling 12-month strategic fundraising plan for a parents program. This includes setting production (dollar and donor) goals that we aspire to be at or above the $500,000 level, telephone outreach strategy, mail appeals, email solicitations, and social media messaging.
•Support and create efforts for parent type events on campus or in regional events, including specific programming for legacy families.
•Collaborate with campus offices in projects and mailings that involve parent connections with affinity and fundraising opportunity.

Build and support a Parents Committee to support fundraising efforts
•Building and supporting a Parents Committee, focused on raising Annual Giving Leadership gifts and engagement with potential events.
•Planning campus engagement opportunities including an annual training opportunity for the Parents Committee members.

•Responsible for integration and coordination of annual giving efforts with office and college colleagues and constituents.
•Model strong and loyal philanthropic support for Grinnell College.
