About SEG
Social Entrepreneurs of Grinnell (SEG) was founded in April 2007 by Jeff Raderstrong '09 at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. With a historical focus on issues of social justice, SEG maintains that legacy at Grinnell. SEG is also one of the first college groups that focuses solely on collecting money for and making microfinance loans.
With a large international community on campus, SEG hopes to bring together multiple campus groups interested in supporting microfinance loans in the third world.
Money is collected through canvassing, donations from alumni and trustees, as well as fundraisers including the semesterly FogFast fundraiser at Grinnell College. SEG hopes to expand it's activities into education and hands-on internships in the near future.
