The fall season has ended for both teams with a last tournament appearance at Missouri Loves Company this past weekend. Soon the snow will come and indoor practices will begin as finals week looms. A lot of juniors will go abroad; one will come back.
As usual, send me tournament recaps and bios, preferably before I go abroad and won't be able to access the website.

I've finished adding the bios for all current players, updated the links page, and wrote tournament recaps for the Stickies' past two tournaments. You should submit a bio to me, especially if you're a first year player.

I added some brief tournament recaps and upcoming tournaments to the women's page. Men, email recaps to me or Jay if you want them on the site. Check back after fall break and I'll have at least the player bios done.

Thanks to all the teams that participated in another successful Elephantitis. Both Grinnell teams have returned* from Hucktoberfest this weekend, which means the fall tournament season is in full swing, and for LeBailly's sake, here're the tournaments both teams are intending on attending this semester:
Exit 69 -- Northfield, MN. October 4-5
No Wisconsequences -- Milwaukee, WI. October 18-19
Hallowinona -- Winona, MN. November 1-2
Missouri Loves Company -- Jefferson City, MO. November 14-15
I'll hopefully update the player bios and team pages and links and archives...soon.
*This is not entirely true, as our beloved teammate Christine is, as of this writing, still stranded in Janesville, Wisconsin with her broken car...

The date for Elephantitis, our home tournament, has been set: September 13 and 14. I'll also be moving profiles and pictures and links over this this new site...probably once school has started, though.

Well, I've finally finished the design and some of the content for this site. Moving all the pictures and videos and links over is going to take a while, but I wanted to put the site up here for feedback. Read below for more.
For clarification: I'm eventually going to move all the player bios over from the old site, so you don't have to submit a bio if you already have one on the old site (unless you want to change or update it). I'm asking people who haven't yet submitted bios at all to do so (if you want! nothing is mandatory).

This is my mockup for a new Grinnell Ultimate website. I thought it was time to give the site an overhaul, implementing the latest team logos and color schemes and generally making everything more updated. I maintained most of the earlier organization, and unless anyone has any ideas, I don't see a need for many new content areas. The site uses valid XHTML and CSS, and if any of you want the source, I would be happy to send it to you. Take a look at the different pages, and let me know what you think by emailing [lieblhan]. If you see anything odd, be sure to include what broswer you're using.
This would also be a good time to submit a bio if you haven't already done so, because, let's be honest here, what else are you going to do now that it's summer? Take a look at existing bios for inspiration or make something up on your own, then email them to Jay or me with a picture, and we'll get it up here as soon as possible. This includes alums, too, since I made some alumni player sections already.

New players are always welcome-- anyone, with any experience, is encouraged to come to practice and join the team.
Our practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:20 to 6:30 on Mac Field. Bring a light and a dark shirt, water, cleats if you have them, and come play with us!
What is Ultimate? Ultimate is a non-contact sport played with a disc (frisbee) on a field with two endzones. Two teams of seven players each try to score in their endzone by advancing down the field by throwing and catching the disc. Like in basketball, players must establish a pivot foot when they catch the disc; there is no running with the disc in hand. There are no officials or referees in ultimate-- play is governed by the "Spirit of the Game," an understanding between players and teams that fair play is of the highest importance. This means that all fouls and violations are self-regulated. In the United States, the Ultimate Players Association regulates and organizes club, college, and high school leagues, tournaments, and teams.
