Tracy Lee Stum
Los Angeles, California
A professional artist with over 15 years of experience, Tracy
Lee Stum received her BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia
after studying painting and drawing in Italy. Tracy has been
involved in numerous street painting festivals for several years
and in the summer of 1999, representing California, competed
with over 240 artists from around the world in the prestigious
XXVII Centro Italiano Madonnari Street Painting Festival in
Grazie di Curtatone, Italy where she and fellow artist Charlene
Lanzel were awarded a prize of excellence and distinguished
work for their street mural. She has been selected as a feature
artist at the Bella Via Festival in Valencia, California and
the I Giovanni del Arte Festival in San Rafael, California.
Tracy resides in Los Angeles and recent projects have included
designing and creating custom 18th century trompe l'oeil murals
for the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

David Loewenstein
Lawrence, Kansas
A professional muralist and community organizer, David Loewenstein
may be best known by Grinnell area residents for his direction
of the mural Eclipse, co-designed and painted by Grinnell
students and residents. David has painted over 18 public murals
and mosaics in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Northern Ireland.
One of his mosaics can be seen at the entrance of Cafe Phoenix,
Grinnell. Previous work includes a joint mural project through
which students in a rural Missouri town worked with New York
City students. He was also selected by the National Endowment
for the Arts and National Arts Councils of Ireland and Northern
Ireland to bring Catholic and Protestant students together to
create a mural in Strabane, Northern Ireland. David Loewenstein,
BA Grinnell College and MFA Purdue University, is a frequent
artist in residence in schools and was awarded the Lighton Prize
for Artist Educator of the Year by Young Audiences, Kansas City,
MO in 2001. He has participated in Kansas City's La Strada dell'
Arte Street Painting Festival every year since 1998.
