Guiding a Student MAP: Spring or Fall

The deadline for proposing a MAP or any other Independent Study during the academic year falls on Monday of the week following the end of the pre-registration period.

To propose a MAP, use the application for Independent Study, available from the Registrar and also online at http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/registrar/documents/indstudy.pdf.

To receive MAP approval, the student should also send by e-mail a one-paragraph summary description of the project to Terri Phipps (phippsT) for posting on the MAP website.

If your MAP will require special costs or expenses, please consult with the Associate Deans' Office about submitting a MAP research budget request.
