Institutional
Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Grinnells IACUC reviews all
research project proposals that use non-human animal subjects. Any faculty, staff or student
conducting research on any vertebrate
animals needs to submit a proposal of the research project to the IACUC
Chair. We encourage electronic
submission of the proposals (send to iacuc@grinnell.edu). Please plan to allow 14 days for a new
submission to be reviewed and a decision rendered. Researchers
with approval need to submit a protocol modification form to the IACUC
for significant modifications to research proposals (either procedures or
subject populations). Researchers using animal subjects also need to be
prepared for IACUC inspection of animal facilities.
