Minutes from the March 1, 2004 meeting were approved as submitted.
Election of the Chair of the Faculty for 2004-06 - Brad Bateman, Chair FOC
Before the vote, Brad remarked that he had received over two dozen absentee votes. The four eligible candidates were: Robert Grey, David Lopatto, Bobbie McKibbin and Wayne Moyer.
Brad's instructions were to write one name on the ballot. The ballots would be collected and tabulated. This procedure would continue until two candidates received two-thirds of the votes cast. After the first vote, a consensus of two names receiving two-thirds of the votes cast was had: David Lopatto and Wayne Moyer.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30th, faculty will receive a paper ballot, via campus mail, listing David Lopatto and Wayne Moyer. Faculty have until 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 2nd to turn in these paper ballots to the FOC not to Brad Bateman who will be out of town on Friday. Ballots placed in Brad's mailbox will not count. The FOC will then tabulate the results.
On a side note, faculty should have received the green form that the FOC uses to assign people to committees. Faculty should complete this form and return it to Brad Bateman.
Announcements and New Business
President Osgood reported that the applications for admission are up 25% over last year. This year, none of our peer's had increases at this rate. However, in the recent past, some of our peer's have had increases at 20%. President Osgood thanked the faculty, admissions and everyone else who contributed to this years' success.
