Members: James Swartz (Chair), Gerald Adams, Mark Schneider, Pablo Silva, Elizabeth Dobbs, Josh Blue (01-53), and George Carroll (03-08).

1. The minutes from the 2/13/01 meeting were approved.

2. The committee approved the following course changes:

a. PHY 456 - change in prerequisite.
b. PHY 220 - change in prerequisite.
c. English Department-see attached
d. FRN 327 - title and description change
e. FRN 103 - new course
f. FRN 102 - new description
g. FRN 328 - title and description change
h. FRN 303 - new title
i. FRN 313 - new title
j. FRN 312 - new title
k. FRN 304 - new title
l. MUS 363 - drop
m. MUS 364 -new course
n. REL 220 - new title
o. REL 318 - drop
p. REL 224 - drop

The Chinese Studies Concentration name change to East Asian Studies and the course modification of the requirements were approved by the Humanities Division but tabled by the Social Studies Division; thus the committee tabled consideration of these changes until they have been approved by both divisions.

The committee approved the new course RES 291 and the addition of RES 291 to the literature electives section of the concentration contingent upon approval by the Social Studies Division (the Humanities Division has already approved both changes).
