1)      The meeting was called to order at 1:05 PM by Sumner.

2)      Introductions were provided all around and new members, Dhiren Patki and Professor Robt. Grey, were warmly welcomed.

3)      Sumner distributed several pieces of background information related to college admission and aid including press articles, admission office internal discussion documents, loan indebtedness total for the College graduates, the College’s Strategic Plan, etc. A brief discussion followed.

4)      Sumner distributed a detailed summary of the 2005 admission it, as well as describing how Com. members could gain added detail (e.g., Dean Swartz’ website, the College admission website, etc.). A brief discussion followed.

5)      A lengthier discussion then developed as to agenda items for the Com. for the 2005-06 academic year. It was decided to approach the following topics this year;  

(A) Posse Foundation partnership update

(B) Periodic admission and aid updates form Sumner

(C) The College’s recently approved Strategic Plan, especially its price and aid components

(D) The possibility of becoming need-sensitive/need aware in the review of wait list candidates for admission

(E) Review of the College’s current testing requirements for international applicants (at the request of Dean Eric Staab, Associate Dean of Admission & Coordinator of International Admission)

(F) Guidance on the proper description of the College’s curriculum (is it the individually advised curriculum, the open curriculum, etc.?).

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 1:10 PM.
