The Committee discussed potential agenda items including:

• We may have different target markets (e.g. Coasts and Midwest) with different types of prospective students. Should we have a different "message" in different markets?
• We need to look at retention rates. Does the Grinnell College that students experience differ from the one they perceive as prospective students?
• We need clear enrollment goals.
• Do we track the performance of entering students who are at the low end of our admission scale? Do they perform perceptibly more poorly than other students?

Tom Crady and Jim Swartz asserted that we need to improve net student revenues. Tom Crady passed out a list of possible suggestions for accomplishing this goal. This list should be considered by the Committee and will also be considered by a Trustee task force on financial aid. We need to balance improving student revenues, maintaining and improving the quality of the entering class, and maintaining and improving the diversity of the incoming class. We do not have a great reputation in Iowa and we need to think about how to improve that. We think that the new Viewbook is improving our image locally and nationally.

The Committee began a discussion of policies which might improve student revenues.
