The Center invites students to contribute copies of research papers and other creations relevant to Prairie Studies to its collections.
Burling Library Database: the Center for Prairie Studies maintains a searchable on-line database of print and musical materials in Burling Library which pertain to Prairie Studies. The written materials included in the database are book-length publications covering the humanities, sciences, and social studies. Searches can be conducted by title, author, and subject.
Center for Prairie Studies Collections: a small collection of books, reports, articles, papers, and ephemera relating to the prairie region can be found at the Center's library in Harry Hopkins House, southwest corner of Park and Seventh Streets. Information is also available on various institutions and organizations suitable for student internships.
Art Work: the Center for Prairie Studies is building a small collection of art works inspired by prairie region landscapes and themes. Artists represented in the collection so far are Bill Innes and John Preston, whose creations are on display at the Center library in Harry Hopkins House.
Field Station: the Center for Prairie Studies is affiliated with the Biology Department's Conard Environmental Research Station (CERA), a 365 acre preserve in Jasper County, established in 1968. A sizable prairie reconstruction project has been underway since the mid-1980s. Oak savannah, woodland, and riparian habitats are also present.
