Assignments:

First and foremost, students will need to do the reading, prepare for discussion, and participate in discussion. Students will also be asked to closely read drafts of their classmates' papers.

Written assignments will include papers due during the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth, and eleventh week of class. For each of these papers. students will have to present a draft and a rewrite. During our writing weeks, we will meet in small groups to discuss one anothers drafts.

Students will also do a brief research project and give a short, in-class presentation.
