Web Project/Oral Presentation/Research Assignment

In your working pairs, you will create a website devoted to a single artist, writer, filmmaker, or, with prior discussion with the instructor, a genre or movement or a topic of your own design. You are by now familiar with the multifaceted character of the artistic response to the revolution; you will create your own representation of some aspect of our materials in multimedia on a page that will become a part of the tutorial website.

This assignment is intended to give you a general notion of posting a page; I do not expect you, however, to become mired down with technical details, and I will be happy to help you through any complexities in technology (though your generation may be able to show mine more than a thing or two in this regard). I will also make sure you know how to avail yourself of computing resources at Grinnell. This assignment is intended rather to consider how we do research on the web, and what kinds of content are best included in something like this--and what form your content is best organized and represented (the old form and content discussion continues).

A significant component of your website will be a prose discussion of your chosen topic, with sources from the library and from the www.

Each pair will present their projects at the end of the semester (see the course syllabus).
