This course assumes a basic knowledge of political science (POL 101) and familiarity with many of the topics discussed in comparative politics (POL 255). In addition, the material presented in this course will generally assume that students have previously taken courses in economics and are generally familiar with basic concepts in economics. Introduction to Economics (Economics 111) and International Economics (Economics 233) together provide an excellent background for this course.
