Physics 132 - General Physics II - Professor Bunson
Fall 2001
Today's Lecture (9/26):Summary:
- Just like with capacitors, resistor circuits can often be simplified using the concept of equivelent resistors for series and parallel connections.
- Since we add voltages for resistors in series, we get the following formula for the equivalent resistance.
- Because the voltages are the same across parallel resistors, we can find the parallel equivalent resistance.

Diversion-of-the-week:This week's diversion takes a page from the Bizarre Stuff You Can Make in Your Kitchen website and it's called the Wonderous Glowing Pickle. Basically, if you plug a pickle into wall socket, it glows! (Disclaimer: This is dangerous! If you don't know what you are doing, you should probably just download the video of this trick!)
