ET Web was created in 2001 by David Berk, Instructional Multimedia Technology Specialist for the Fine Arts at Grinnell College from a proposal written by Jonathan Chenette, Blanche Johnson Professor of Music at Grinnell College.

The primary objective of ET Web was to create a web-based ear-training environment that could run within a web browser, thereby allowing students convenient access for drill-type exercises.

The different exercises within ET Web can be accessed via the pop-up menu on the lower-left.

It is possible to create your own exercises if have access to Finale (or any notation program) and a simple graphics application. You can download a draft of PDF file of the exercise-creation documentation and the Finale template I use with pre-defined page size, etc. to match the dimensions of the expected graphic size.

We hope you enjoy using this tool and find it useful in your exploration of music ear training. If you have any questions or comments about this site, please send them to David Berk at berk@grinnell.edu.

This project was made possible by a grant from the
